In addition to providing our member organisations with year-round tools to offer quality and successful work/volunteer abroad programmes, WYSE Work Abroad also aims to showcase the importance working and volunteering abroad opportunities have for young people.
This is only possible through the support of all our members, and their great participants, for which we have created the annual “Expand Your Horizons” Video Contest, now in its sixth year. In three minutes, participants showcase the opportunities, challenges, experiences, friendships and growth connected to their working / volunteering holiday experiences, with one winner selected to win US$ 1,000.
In addition, in 2012 we launched a design comtest, calling on young design students to help us put ‘volunteering’ in an image, for our annual WYSTC Gives Back T-Shirt, giving students a creative platform. At this annual event bringing together 800+ delegates of the global youth travel industry, all participants of the Volunteering Projects sport these shirts with enthusiasm for what it stands for: giving back and making a difference.
